08.18.06: Xfactor Series 3 - 2006 Starting
Soon
If you can’t wait for the next series of X Factor to start, then you will
be pleased to know that the first airing will be in less than two weeks
time - on Saturday 19th August 2006. Slight changes to the format of the
show mean that there will be four judges this series, with Paula Abdul
joining Louis, Sharon and Simon as the fourth judge. Does this then mean
there there will be four categories instead of three to be judged this
time around? Tune in to find out! As usual, the show will be hosted by
the lovely Kate Thornton and behind the scenes footage will be presented
by Ben Shephard in the Xtra Factor on ITV2 after the show.

12.23.05: A quote from the GQ Men of the
Year Awards this past summer:
Simon Cowell, aka Mr Nasty, was presented the Best TV Personality award
by his American Idol nemesis Paula Abdul at the GQ Men Of The Year Awards
last night. Putting their differences aside, Paula admitted she admired
Simon for teaching her to be gutsy. And why does he admire her? "For admiring
me," he said.

The W Hotel Chicago-City Center became an "American Idol" stage Tuesday
as hopefuls who survived last weekend's cuts at Soldier Field auditioned
before Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson. RedEye caught up with
the judges and Ryan Seacrest at a news conference, where the foursome
teased one another. Seacrest called the group "dysfunctional," and at
one point, Paula said she was happy her chair was raised higher than Simon's
chair so that she could look down on him for once--then she hopped into
his lap and gave him a hug. None of the show's stars would say
if anything special is planned for the fifth season, but Simon did say
that "Randy will not be using the word 'dawg' this year, and Paula will
actually say something interesting." If you missed your chance to audition
in Chicago, don't fret. Fox announced Tuesday that auditions have been
added in Greensboro, N.C. (Oct. 3), and Las Vegas (Oct. 10).

X FACTOR judge Louis Walsh, 52, bragged the ITV show's winning act was
on his team this year. He said: "I've got four fantastic acts and there's
one in particular that I think is going to win." Rival judge Simon
Cowell, 45, was at the Dorchester Hotel but did not attend the bash -
instead dining with American Idol co-judge Paula Abdul, 42.

Anyway the guy who was sitting behind us, who took the photo was telling
Corey about how he worked in PR, and handed him a folder with some papers
inside. Then he says to me, " You like Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul, right?"
and i said yes. Then he said "Well i can tell you something, I saw them
having lunch together a few months back, in late April, and they seemed
as though they were very into each other, definately some kissing going
on." So i was like "For real?!" and the guy's girlfriend was like "Definately,
i thought that they were a couple" They told me the name of the restaurant
but i can't remember it, it sounded Italian, La something, maybe... I
don't know how reliable it was, but they definately seemed very sincere
about it.

08.17.05: Cowell Glad Abdul's Still
on 'Idol' (Tuesday, August 16 03:03 PM) LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) Simon
Cowell may not always care for fellow "American Idol" judge Paula Abdul's
opinions, but the man knows it's good television. So it's no surprise
he's happy to see Abdul remain with the show after being cleared of charges
she got a little too close to a past contestant. "Paula Abdul is coming
back to the show and absolutely rightly so," Cowell tells "Extra" correspondent
Terri Seymour -- who also happens to be his girlfriend -- in an interview
airing Tuesday (Aug. 16). "The show would not be the same without Paula."
Former "Idol" contestant Corey Clark alleged earlier this year that he
and Abdul had a sexual relationship and that she coached him on song choices
during his time on the FOX show in 2003. Independent investigators hired
by the network and the show's producers concluded last week that there
was no evidence to corroborate Clark's charges.
Consequently, when auditions for the fifth season of "American Idol" begin
later this week in San Francisco, Abdul will be in her familiar spot between
Cowell and Randy Jackson at the judges' table. Cowell wouldn't have it
any other way, although he says his hope for the coming season is that
"Paula and Randy say less and me to be given more air time." Cowell is
also facing some heat of his own over a show called "Million Dollar Idea"
he's developing at ABC. Last week the Minneapolis-based creators of a
show with the same name and a similar premise -- giving inventors and
entrepreneurs a shot at conquering the market -- sued, saying Cowell and
the network stole their idea.
Cowell's response? "Let me tell you categorically -- and I will take a
lie detector test -- I have never, ever seen their show," he says.

07.05.05: Paula Abdul, who danced on
the side of the stage during Wonder's Saturday set, was at Atlantic City's
Borgata Sunday night. She hit the casino/hotel's 2nd anniversary party,
featuring Il Divo, assembled by Adbul's fellow "American Idol" judge Simon
Cowell. After the show, Abdul, and Il Divo dined at the hotel's Ombra
restaurant and later hit club Mixx.
